Keep your weight in check
|

Calculate your BMI. [BMI = Weight in Kgs /
(height in meter) ²]. Your BMI should not be more than 25 (23 is Ideal). If your
BMI is more, you will have to lose weight to target BMI of at least 25.

Eat Healthy Food
|
|
Vegetables, Fruits, Salads (without
dressings), Pulses are healthy foods. Drinking lot of water also adds a lot in
keeping you healthy. Excessive use of Fried food, Butter, Ghee, Ice creams,
Sweets, Cheese is a definite invitation to Heart and other diseases.

Exercise daily
|
|
Even a brisk walk of 40 minutes daily goes
a long way in keeping you healthy. Do an exercise which you enjoy and which your
doctor has approved. The most important issue is to form a “HABIT” of exercising
regularly.

Keep your Lipids, Blood Sugar, Blood
Pressure in check
|
|
Get your lipid levels, blood sugar done at
least every year. Make sure your Blood Pressure is in normal range. Consult your
doctor to know the ideal levels for you.

Manage to cope with stress
|
|
It is impossible for anyone not to have
stress. The key is to cope with it. Yoga, Breathing exercises, positive
attitude, regular exercise, acceptance of the truth etc. are the ways to cope
with the stress. Find your own way to tackle the stress. Do not allow stress to
take charge of you.

Avoid Tobacco in any form
|
|
Eating / chewing tobacco or smoking have
deleterious effects on your health. Stop it at once. Take medical help if need
be. Giving up tobacco will boost your health to a great extent.
